Tuition Assistance for the 2025-26 School Year
SFGC is proud to offer tuition assistance for our regular school-year programming, made possible by the Elizabeth Avakian Scholarship Fund. Our Tuition Assistance Application for the 2025-26 school year is open from March 17, 2025 to April 27, 2025. If you think that you may need financial aid in order to sing with us next season, we encourage you to submit an application during this window. You’ll receive a link to the application after submitting an Interest Form.
Eligibility is determined based on the following criteria:
Household size and income
Extenuating financial circumstances
Length of time enrolled in the program
Number of siblings enrolled for the coming school year
If you’re not sure if you qualify, we encourage you submit an application regardless.
Applicants must upload a signed copy of their most recent tax return (form 1040) in order to be considered. 2024 is preferred, but 2023 will be accepted if you have not yet filed for 2024.
Tuition amounts for next year can be found on our Sing With Us page. You won’t know your singer’s ensemble placement for 2025-26 when you apply, so you should submit an application if you think you will need assistance for any of their possible ensemble placements. Families will be notified of placements for next season in May. Please contact SFGC staff with any questions at info@sfgirlschorus.org.
After submitting your application, you can expect to receive notice of its status shortly before we open registration in May. If approved in any amount, you may accept the award upon registering for our program.
The Elizabeth Avakian Scholarship Fund
The Elizabeth Avakian Scholarship Fund provides over $150,000 annually in scholarship support to over one third of SFGC’s choristers. Created out of the belief that all young people should have access to music education, the fund ensures that SFGC can support the needs of each family and chorister throughout their tenure at the Chorus. We are grateful for the support of our community to continue the mission of this fund!
